What are the 5 challenges of this Sciencethon? You will love them!

CHALLENGE 1. Contributing new posts to the platform

In this challenge you can contribute new posts on the Sappho & Adhyayana platforms. To do so:

1. Choose on which platform you want to make your post and enter the website:

2. Register on the platform and Log in

3. Prepare a post. This shall address a topic that has not yet been discussed in the platforms. To prepare the post:

  • Choose your statement (E.g. Love Kills)
  • Find at least 3 scientific articles published in scientific journals indexed in the scientific databases of JCR or Scopus. The articles must be representative of the state of the art
  • The reflections provided should not contain discriminatory language / claims. You can check more information about this under the Dialogic Open Review section in Sappho and Adhyayana.

CHALLENGE 2. Search for posts that “Need more evidence” or are “Controversies”

Enter Sappho and Adhyayana and check the posts under the categories of “Needs more evidence” or “Controversy”. For this challenge, you shall:

  1. Select a post classified as“Needs more evidence” or “Controversy”.
  2. Look for new evidence about them. The evidence should be published in journals indexed either in JCR or Scopus and should be representative of the state of the art of that topic.
  3. Add a new comment with the new evidence you have found. Do not forget to select “Post comment” at the end!

CHALLENGE 3. Wikipedia Entries

In this challenge update wikipedia entries by listing platform posts as a source in the bibliography:

  1. Enter the Adhyayana (Education) and/or Sappho (Gender) platforms and choose the evidence you want to share on Wikipedia.
  2.  Register your profile in Wikipedia.
  3.  Make or edit a post on Wikipedia and include the platforms in the list of references

CHALLENGE 4. Disseminate the posts categorised as “Evidence” or “Hoax”

The goal in this challenge is to disseminate posts from the platforms through social media:

  1. Enter the Adhyayana (Education) and/or Sappho (Gender) platforms and select a post under “Evidence” or “Hoax”.
  2. Log into your profile on the social media you prefer.
  3. Disseminate the post you selected. Plan the message taking into account your audience. You can include pictures, create infographies… creativity is valued!
  4. Mention ALLINTERACT profile in your post: @allinteract and @PlatformSis and use the hashtag #Sciencethon

CHALLENGE 5. Debate a post

The objective of this challenge is to contribute to the debate in the platforms by publishing new comments:

  1.  Enter the Adhyayana (Education) and/or Sappho (Gender) platforms and select a post under “Evidence” or “Hoax”.
  2. Read the post and comments available. If you participate as a group, you can discuss about it among groups members.
  3.  Make a comment with the conclusions of your reflection and/or dialogue.
